On May 10, 2019, Bakur Melkonyan, founder of Art Lunch and Art Guest House companies, held a series of meetings on hotel and restaurant business development in Akhalkalaki and Akhaltsikhe, Samtskhe-Javakheti region.
The meetings were attended by the director of Gardman Tour Travel Company, Hayk Maghakyan, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Support to Javakheti Foundation, Sos Sahakyan, executive director, Samvel Mkoyan, director of the Georgian Representation of the Foundation, Armen Grigoryan, owners and managers of restaurants operating in Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda regions.
Founder of Art Lunch company, B. Melkonyan emphasized that for the success of hotel and restaurant business, it is necessary to combine efforts and create a hotel and restaurant development association. In this case, the involvement of competent specialists will result in the easier implementation of marketing, which in its turn will increase the participants’ income.
He also noted that due to the joint efforts and work of hotels, it would be possible to direct a large flow of tourists to this region, contributing to the development of the sphere.
This idea was mostly approved by the participants and it was decided to establish the association during the next meeting.
Melkonyan and Support to Javakheti Foundation’s delegation also visited Karzakhi, an Armenian-populated village on the Turkish border, and Jivani House-Museum. The staff welcomed the guests with Karzakhi dishes made in museum tonir.
Today 45 Art Lunch food centres operate in the territory of Armenia. The company also has food centres in Georgia, Russia and Dubai.
The series of meetings were initiated by Support to Javakheti Foundation and were aimed at developing hotel business and tourism in Samtskhe-Javakheti region.
